Hifz is not merely a memorisation process; it is a lifelong mental discipline and the building of character. At our academy, hifz education is run through two different professional models according to the student's school period and age group. Our goal is to achieve the highest consistency in both models and to prepare our student for the official Hifz Examination organised by HDV in the Netherlands, so that they obtain an internationally recognised certificate.
Hifz Alongside School (Primary & Lower Secondary — Onderbouw)
"Great discipline gained at a young age, without disrupting school life."
This model is run in parallel with school education for our students in the primary and lower-secondary (onderbouw) period. Although getting used to this tempo and settling the system takes some time at first, with serious discipline and strong teacher follow-up, hifz becomes a natural part of the young person's daily life.
🔄 Daily Routine and Follow-Up System
- Lessons 6 Days a Week: Except Sunday, our student comes to a live lesson with their teacher regularly every day.
- Reciting the Memorisation (First Part of the Lesson): The student recites the new daily memorisation page (their lesson) prepared for that day to the teacher and receives approval.
- Preparing for Tomorrow's Lesson (Second Part of the Lesson): Under the teacher's supervision and guidance, the page to be memorised the next day is worked on, rehearsed with correct articulation (recited to the teacher), and the student leaves having completed their daily lesson.
⏱️ Process and Consistency Conditions
- Completion Time: With regular, consistent follow-up, hifz is successfully completed within 2.5 to 3.5 years.
- Attendance and Leave Policy: In hifz, interruption breaks the chain. So that the system is never disrupted, the student's total annual leave is limited to a maximum of 3 weeks.
Accelerated Hifz with a Gap Year (Secondary School & University Transition — Bovenbouw)
"For those who want to take a focused break from education and reach the goal in a short time."
If our student is at the transition to upper secondary school or university (bovenbouw), they can plan a 1-year gap year (tussenjaar) in their education and bring the hifz process up to tremendous speed. This period without school workload is spent as a focused camp devoted entirely to hifz.
🔄 How the System Works
- The daily lesson load and focus time are raised to the highest level.
- Because the mind concentrates solely on memorising the Qur'an, the number of pages memorised per day increases.
- With the teacher's one-on-one mentorship and close follow-up, the process runs at maximum efficiency.
⏱️ Process and Goal
- Completion Time: Thanks to full focus, hifz education is successfully completed in a remarkably short, record time of 1.5 years (18 months).
Lesson Format and Capacity
- Private One-on-One Mentorship: Hifz is an entirely personal teacher–student relationship. Lessons are therefore held in a one-on-one format where the teacher focuses completely on the student's memorisation capacity, speed and psychological follow-up.
The Official HDV Hifz Examination and Certification Process
At myquranacademy, one of our greatest goals is to prepare our students residing in the Netherlands who have successfully completed their hifz education, in the best-equipped way, for the official Hifz Examination organised by the Netherlands Diyanet Foundation (HDV). Students who attend our online lessons from other countries can also participate in this examination through the official institutions in their own country, such as the Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı. By the grace and will of Allah, at the end of this process, we ensure that all our students obtain the internationally recognised official hifz certificate.
Examination System and Success Criteria: The HDV Hifz Examination is a serious assessment process, conducted entirely orally and managed by an expert committee. For candidates to be considered successful, they must meet the following criteria:
- Scope: The examination committee asks random questions from anywhere in the Holy Qur'an (from every juz and page).
- Assessment: The student's memorisation strength, tajweed application and makhraj quality are scored as a whole.
- Pass Mark: To pass the examination successfully, the candidate must score a minimum of 70 points out of 100.
